Michael and Melanie Waddell are Global Field Staff with Canadian Baptist Ministries, appointed in August 2015 to serve in the Philippines. Along with their four children- Kyla, Sean, Carter and Allie- they live in Roxas City, Capiz on the island of Panay.
Michael and Melanie serve alongside CBM colleagues and partners in the area of Marketplace Ministry. The Waddells are assisting in the formation of Christian discipleship movements within the context of the marketplace. The Waddells also work along side our Filipino partners who are working with the poor and marginalized in various facets of Integral Mission through capacity building that models humility, love, compassion and integrity.
Michael is currently completing his Master of Arts in Theology at Acadia Divinity College. Melanie has a Master’s Degree in Counselling from Acadia University and has experience working in various counselling settings. The Waddells spent 14 years in the business world, as well as 5 years serving as Directors of a Baptist owned Christian camp in New Brunswick, before sensing that God was leading them to something new.
Currently on home assignment here in Canada, the Waddells will spend most of their time here in the Eastern provinces, visiting various churches & sharing their stories and updates until they return to the Philippines in September.

HUSBAND AND WIFE CHRISTIAN COMEDY ACT BOB & JANE CATES
WINNERS OF THE BEST VARIETY ACT AT THE 2018 CANADIAN COMEDY AWARDS
The husband and wife duo perform their show at corporate dinners, banquets and gala special events, as well as headline on cruise ships. In addition, as Christians, they perform many shows at churches, ministries, and family events.
As a former Canadian Juggling Champion, Bob doesn’t just tickle the audience’s funny bone as he jokes all the way through the show. He makes sure they see some seriously amazing tricks as well.
Their show includes advanced juggling, wild unicycling and balancing skills, black light laser effects, Chinese Yo Yo routines, illusion and an insane 24 plate spinning finale (using real breakable plates) that you will remember for a long long time. They are one of the few acts left in North America performing authentic plate spinning – their signature piece. The Comedy in Motion show is like a cross between Jerry Seinfeld and Cirque du Soleil.
$15.00/ticket – $45.00/family of 4 Tickets are available online. Click here to purchase! Or they can be purchased from Pastor Paul Steeves or at the Hillsborough Baptist Church office.
